Frequently Asked Questions


​ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS ON VISITING HOURS?
No, as this is our resident's home, family members and guest are welcome to visit at their convenience.

DO YOU HAVE PRIVATE ROOMS?
Yes, we have both private and semi-private rooms available for our residents.

CAN I BRING MY OWN FURNITURE?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your favorite furniture and treasured belongings with you or design your furnishings to be as comfortable and familiar as possible.

CAN I HAVE A TV AND PHONE IN MY ROOM?
Yes, each room is cable-ready and wired for telephones. Residents are responsible for all costs associated with these services.

IS THERE ACCESS TO A LICENSED NURSE? 
Yes, the administrator and the house manager who happen to be also licensed nurses will oversee all aspects of care services including assessments, medication management, and communication with the family and physicians.

DO YOU OFFER REHABILITATION OR SKILLED NURSING?
No, Accession Estates Assisted Living does not offer rehabilitation or skilled nursing but we work with the family, physician, and partner providers (local healthcare providers including hospice services, home health services, and podiatry) to find an alternative solution.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO LIVE AT ACCESSION ESTATES ASSISTED LIVING?
The cost to live at Accession Estates assisted living homes is based on each resident's type of accommodation and individualized level of care provided. The individualized level of care needs may be revised at anytime the resident's medical condition or preferences change, and has to be reviewed and updated every quarter by the care team. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE COSTS?
Our Base Rate includes room rent, three home-cooked meals a day, snacks and hydration through out the day, housekeeping, personal laundry, 24-hour supervision by trained staff, assistance with the activities of daily living, administration of medications, emergency safety alert system, health monitoring by a nurse, and all of our in-house activities.

CAN RESIDENT'S REQUESTS EVENTS OR ACTIVITIES?
Yes, our team will entertain specific resident request so we can be certain our activities meet their needs and interests.

CAN A RESIDENT ATTEND AN ADULT MEDICAL DAY CENTER WHILE LIVING IN THE FACILITY?
Yes, residents are encouraged to remain physically and mentally active. Adult medical day center can provide meaningful activities and social opportunities for assisted living residents.

CAN THE RESIDENT LEAVE THE FACILITY AT ANY GIVEN TIME?
​Yes, the family can take out the residents as they please, as long as it is safe to do so. We ask that residents sign in and out for our record.

DOES INSURANCE COVER OR PAY FOR ASSISTED LIVING?
While policies vary, an individual's health insurance program or long-term care insurance policy may reimburse some costs. Life insurance conversion benefits and veterans benefits are also good options for those who qualify.

IS THERE SOMEONE WHO PROVIDE HAIRCUTS?
Yes, we have a beautician on call who will provide the needs of the resident onsite.

DO YOU PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION FOR RESIDENTS?
No, we do not maintain on-site vehicles for transporting residents. We can recommend a doctors group that regularly visits the facility. We request that residents and/or families make their own transportation arrangements.

HOW MANY RESIDENTS DO YOU HAVE?
Our home accommodates up to ten residents. Being a small health care facility,  Accession Estates Assisted Living  offers a  family friendly and home-like atmosphere setting that supports the wellness of the whole person including their physical, mental, and social needs. Our goal is to empower our residents with much independence as possible while giving their families peace of mind.
